everything is stretched in IE

I am writing a site for a friend. the central part of the site is supposed to be 1000px wide. when i preview the site on my machine before uploading it to my host and it looks fine in IE and it looks fine in FF always. but when I upload it the central part is stretched in IE to 1042px. does anybody know why this is happening?

@moty469Mar 01.2010 — Its funny I was having the same issue but seems to resolve it self. Not sure if its my CPU or what maybe a bug in my program. still having an issue with font size though. thanks for your help.
