I have a bar on the side of my screen that i want to have hovering no matter where the visitor scrolls. Is this possible to do without setting the position to fixed.

Sorry for the sarcasm, it's my way of saying of course there are other ways, but the best one is to use position:fixed....is there a reason why you can't use it?
