instanceof Operator in MS IE

Does anyone have information about why the use of the ‘instanceof’ operator returns an error “Function Expected” in MSIE when it seemingly should NOT do so?

What functionally identical workarounds do you use?

@mavigozlerauthorJan 04.2010 — Okay, this is my mistake.

'instanceof' applies only to objects made by constructors, and the 'styleSheet' or 'StyleSheet' object which MS specifies as being an object in IE is not made by a constructor or defined by a class as it MORE SENSIBLY in a real scripting browser like Firefox.
