Horizontal valign divs?

Hi!
I have two divs thats in another div(container)…and I need those two divs to be valigned side by side(horizontal)..is there any way to do this?

I have tried by setting the display property to table-cell and that works fine in FF but when it comes to IE it doesnt work at all, since IE doesnt support table-cell “displaying”..
