Test new website on the current website folder

Hi Guys,

I’m working on a new website. I like to keep all the paths relative to the root so they all start as “/”. So now I want to test this on the live server (Godaddy) where the current site is hosted. How can I test it there without affecting the old website. If I upload it to a subfolder ofcourse, all my links get broken because they are relative to the root.

Please help.

Thanks

@ryanbutlerDec 03.2009 — Couldn't you just add a folder inside the root called "newsite" and then make every link in there site root relative?

Those are absolute, not relative.

Make the links relative; that is, relative to the current page.
