What you are seeing is Favicon. It is a 16x16 image that when linked correctly in your HTML code, it will show up in the address bar. You can make your own Favicon and then upload it to your site. In the HEAD section of your HTML code you would link to it like this:
@Daniel_TJan 14.2004 — #k, i've got my favicon setup and it kinda works. when u first load the page, the icon flashes in the address bar, but than changes back to the pic of the blank page. help?
-Dan
p.s.: if it helps, my website is currently running off of my computer and is not uploaded to the internet yet
@iniquity101Jan 14.2004 — #In IE, if it doesnt show the favicon you can drag the internet explorer one a little way in the address bar and the actual favicon appears. No idea why though?
@Daniel_TJan 15.2004 — #im using mozilla, but it still doesnt show the favicon(except when it flashes for about 1/10 of a second when the page is loaded)?
@Ben_RogersJan 17.2004 — #cant help ya, ive tried to use those (even downloaded a icon maker - and i have dial up!) but it wont work offline and geocities dislikes .ico files ?

I got one working offline in Firebird, and I know after I changed the favicon, it didn't change it in my tab. I ended up switching back anyway. Not that this helps. ?
