For better security, consider using [url=http://php.net/sha1]sha1[/url] () or one of the even more modern hashing algorithms. In either case, note that these are both "one-way" hashes; they are [i]not[/i] two-way encryption/decryption and are not intended to be reversed (i.e., determine the original un-hashed password from a hash).
