NuSOAP WSDL question

I have a relatively simple question for NuSOAP gurus out there –

Is there a function within NuSOAP that I can use to manually set the XML within the request/soap envelope body?

All the WSDL tutorials out there are setting the request data via an array format with $client->call(‘function_name’, $input_array);, which is proving troublesome (backwards, I know). If I could just manually set the XML in the soap envelope in the request, this would bypass my problem.

I’ve looked in the NuSOAP library, but I couldn’t see any obvious functions and thought someone might know of one or how to do this here. If you need further clarification, just shout. Thanks for your time!
