[RESOLVED] simple regex problem

Hi, i am trying to replace the following code with a new line. So far to no success. I am pretty sure my regex is correct.

I have tried:
$textMatches = str_replace(‘<span id=”lnBr”> </span>’, ‘n’, $textMatches);
and
$textMatches = preg_replace(‘/<spansid=”lnBr”>s</span>/’, ‘n’, $textMatches);
Any ideas why this script cannot find:
<span id=”lnBr”> </span>
Thanks in Advance

@MindzaiOct 13.2009 — The regex matches your example for me. Note that n in single quotes is a literal backslash-n, whilst n in double quotes is the newline character.
