Hi,
I have a website in tech field and I want to submit article to slashdot to have a link to my site.

Is it okay if I submit this article to other article submission sites as well? If not, why not?

In general, how does this article submission concept work as far as link building? What are the things to keep in mind?

Article submission does provide a useful way of generating backlinks for your important keywords.

While doing article submission make sure the article is according to specified length and formatting guidelines.

Yes as the article has a author bio, it is ok to submit the same article in different article directories without having to think about the duplicate content problem.
