How do I link a webpage without the file ending in .html ?

Hello,

Curious question…

I’m building a website and I want certain sections to not have a .html at the end,

for example: www.mysite.com/news

instead of:

www.mysite.com/news.html

I’ve seen a bunch of sites that do it, i.e myspace does it with: www.myspace.com/userID

Should I create a folder called “news” and use an “index.html” file for that section in there and that would work?

Thanks!
