Changing Text on the Fly Using Javascript

On my page I have some text that is formatted with css like:
<td class =’titletext’>Memo: Picture of Dog</td>
I have onclick events that when a user clicks smaller images, it changes a larger image. This is working, but I want to an onclick event to change the “Picture of Dog” text above to say… “Picture of Cat”. I have read that I can do this with innerHTML but none of the examples I tried worked for what I am doing. Can anyone get show me the proper syntax to do what I want to do?

Thank you.

@jgbarber65authorSep 07.2009 — I got it to work. I didn't have it formatted correctly and I had my Id tag in the wrong area.
