@MindzaiSep 04.2009 — Smarty and Zend Framework are not really comparable since they do not do the same thing. Smarty is a templating engine (and IMO is pretty redundant aside from it's caching functionality since PHP is already an excellent templating language) wheres Zend Framework provides a base on which you can build your apps. Which is best for you (if any) depends on what you are trying to do.

@NogDogSep 04.2009 — And for that matter, they are not mutually exclusive. You could conceivably use both Zend and Smarty. Personally, I've not used either, though I suppose I should download and learn both just to improve my knowledge base; but then there are so many other things I [i]should[/i] do, too. :rolleyes: (I have been using CodeIgniter quite a bit for the last year, though.)
