ok.. peofeo, this question is aimed at you cause ur the only person i know that has a lot of experience with asp.net.
anyways, how does one go about making a chatbox? I’ve never made one in ANY language… so I would like to learn fundamentally how one works.
The way I think of it, is that you would have a database, and then have a textarea (readonly) that displays the content of the database, and that when someone enters text(chmod access?), it replaces the old row 1 in the database with the entered text, for all to see and moves the old row 1 to row2. but then how would that whole, text moving up to make way for the new text that is now in row 1 thing work…
anyways, how would this work? or would it just use pure server language to do it? and also peofeo, think you could help me with this? i’d like to get one actually working, so that I can learn from it and build off of it.
