Hey guys, I didn’t know where to post this.

Hey guys,

I have created two pages for my website so far, the “index.html” and the “knowledge.html”
I have uploaded them to my host and the index shows up fine when I type my www into the address bar, but when I click the knowledge button it will not link to it and the page just goes blank white.

I am not to internet savvy so this is probably a simple thing I am doing wrong but I just can’t see it LOL

Once again sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

Roy

@6StringGeekAug 11.2009 — Fix these errors...most just need to be self-closed with a /. Won't necessarily fix your issue (might), but can contribute to other issues...and is not proper coding for the DTD you are using.

Did you verify the the file is on your server, and called the same (no caps, spelling errors, in the same directory etc)?

@roysummerauthorAug 11.2009 — Hey buddy,

Thank you for the reply.

The file is spelt the same and there is no caps or anything that shouldn't be there. It is in the same directory as the index.html. They are both in the public html folder.

I am using kompozer (I think that is how you spell it LOL)

I checked the "fix these errors" link you gave me and I have to admit I am a little lost from the start LOL I will keep reading and see if anything comes from it LOL

Thank you again.

@6StringGeekAug 11.2009 — All the tags it references do not have a closing tag so they should be self-closed...for example <br /> instead of <br>. That will clear up most of the errors. You can post back when you've done that and if you have any that are confusing we can help you out.

@6StringGeekAug 11.2009 — Have you been able to make the template work on your local machine? I downloaded it and didn't have any issues. If it works on your machine but not on your server you might double check that everything is pointed correctly. I would still encourage fixing the coding errors though.

@CharlesAug 11.2009 — Instead of closing the empty tags you would do better to just switch to HTML. XHTML is only for people who [i]really[/i] know what they are doing. Use [font=monospace]<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"

"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">[/font] in your prolog and then re-validate.

But your presenting problem is that the internet is case sensitive. You missing page is located at http://www.summer-holdings.com/Knowledge.html .

@roysummerauthorAug 11.2009 — Hey guys,

Thank you to everyone for the replies.

It was me being thick that was preventing the link. I renamed Knowledge.html to knowledge.html (lowercase.....which I thought I did in the 1st place LOL). Went into komposer and changed the link and it works fine.

It is bed time now as I have clients from 5am LOL When I finish work tomorrow I will try and sort out those errors and the other things.

I will come back and let you know how it is going.

Thank you so much again guys. If you ever need any help/info on training or nutrition or want a routine/eating plan worked out for you, don't hesitate to let me know!!! ?
