An API for getting list of backlinks for a given URL

Hi,

I am developing a SEO application for my employer and I used Yahoo Site Explorer API.

But I’m having an issue, as in consecutive requests Yahoo service get failed. HTTP 503 error , means technically the error is in their end. Within those failure few urls get processed successfully. I didn’t mean rate limit, this issue happens well below the rate limit of 5000 requests per IP per Day.

Now, I need to make above working for all input urls or find an alternative API/method to get backlinks.

So, I highly appreciate anyone who guides me in proper path..

@metal_royAug 11.2009 — I had the same problem, i solved it with proxies and multiple ips. But shhhhhhhhhh do not let search engines hear us, it is not allowed to do automatic searches :p
