Is my problem unsolvable?

Hey folks,

Tell me this and tell me no more… I need to capture live data(numbers just) from a site(dont jump to any cnclusions just yet). The thing is, i think the only way of getting them into Matlab is by somekind of image OCR tool (i cant use scraping software as its not a normal data feed), to capture the image, then translate it into text that i can use to make my programme in Matlab.

If you look, you will see that the data is split into boxes ….what i want to know is, is there anyway of getting that live data feed from one of those boxes through, say image recognition or otherwise? Or am i NUTTTS????

ps the method has to ensure that the data is synchronised and stremed live into my with my pc .

@donatelloAug 05.2009 — MS Excel has a way to do it, then you can run it with ASP.net or somesuch.

I've used screenscrapers to grab data like this... you can hunt for named tables or write a PHP script to grab the data in real time, but it will only execute once on pageload.

Otherwise you will need AJAX as far as I know.

Hope that helps... there are better experts on this forum regarding this than I , but they all seem to be on vacation this month.
