Last week I purchased a .co.uk domain from godaddy which at first glance appeared to have no problems.
I then start receiving emails saying the registration failed and would try again, and then eventually an email saying the registration could not take place and I would be refunded. I should re-register the domain.
Doing a whois on the domain brings up my information with the correct expiry date. It also says:
[I]Registration status:
Registration request being processed.
I am unable to re-register the domain (as it is already taken by me) and unable to access it.
I have called godaddy twice (both since receiving the ‘registration-failed’ email). The first time I guy told me a technical team were looking into it and would get back to me. When I didn’t hear anything for a few days I called again and they said that I just had to wait 30 days for the registration to be cleared and try again.
Godaddy have already given me a refund so I guess the second person was probably right.
What can I do? Just wait 30 days? My client who I purchased the domain for is about to print business cards and wants the domain on them this week. Not really sure what to say to him.
Will certainly never be using godaddy again.
