need help whats the best way to do this

i have a web site that i have done in css i want to be able to click a next and previous buttons to move from picture to picture but also swap one of the boxs from text to a picture and back if needed

main picture to be on the right side all times will be a different picture with the text and a small picture swaping on the left side in the 2 boxs i have

the only way that i can think of as a newbie is when click next you goto a whole new page but this seems so long a process todo any ideas or pointers would be great
