how to open link in same window ?

I want to open one link in same windows and other link in diffrent window. How can I do that ?

@manishrathiauthorJun 23.2009 — So , if I provide target="_self" or I dont provide any target its going to open the same window, right ? So providing "_self", is it optional?

What functionality does "_top" and "_parent" provide. I tried to use both of thema but I got the same result. Link opened up in the same page only.

So its just "_blank" which opens page in new window, rest are all opening page in same window. Pls explain different functiona;ity provided by "_self" , "_top" and "_parent".
