Return as XML

I have a php file that writes some XML, then echos that out. This works fine. I would now like to use ajax to POST some data to that page, then have it return XML back, based on what was sent.

My only problem here is that I can’t get a response back when I post to it. Do I need to be doing something special to return XML?
