Contact Form with Tracking ID

Hi there,

I have a simple contact form where users fill in their information as a quote request and it comes to my e-mail.

I want to add an additional field for my end which tracks which quote it is. Therefore if this is the 10th quote, it will say Tracking ID: 10. A year later if it is the 900th quote, it will say Tracking ID: 900. Just to keep organization better on my end.

Does anyone know of a contact form quote that does this? Any experience with this or where I can go to implement this? I am using mycontactform.com right now and they do not do this. If i can find a script that can do tracking ID’s as well, then I will definitely leave them and host the PHP-end myself.

@martswiteMar 27.2009 — Im not familiar with the site you are using.

Does the service create the form for you then let you download it from them and upload it to your server?

Do you have access to your own web space?

What you are asking for could be implemented quite easily without using a contact form wizard.

@enanhauthorMar 27.2009 — Sorry if I sounded vague. MyContactForm makes the form, makes the code, hosts the PHP file(s) required and lets me present the form on my site.

Ignore MyContactForm though as a solution because I can't edit their code and don't have access to changing anything there. It's more of a simple form.

I would like a PHP script or engine that acts as a simple contact form but also tracks the tracking number. Just so I can keep track of how many quotes have been requested.

Ex. E-mail number 88: On the e-mail to me there will be a field like: Reference ID: 88

You know something along the lines of that...is that sufficient information? I'm sure it's actually an easy solution but i'm not as experienced in PHP and it's driving me nuts to find it online...

@martswiteMar 27.2009 — It is a simple thing to execute. Im not aware of any online services that do what you want.

If you are wanting to try and do this yourself i would be very happy to help you out.
