php & apache please help!

I’m trying to upgrade my remote server’s apache so I can install a CMS, but I’m really stuck on this & could use some expert advice:

I can’t seem to find a good tutorial on how to use SSH to extract the install file, and run the proper commands for installing Apache. Can anyone recommend a good resource for learning SSH in Windows?

My server info:
UNIX
Apache/1.3.41 (hoping to upgrade to 2.0.x)

@gchandrasaMar 18.2009 — SSH only protocol to connect you to the server you own.

Trying to extract file is a different thing. What you looking for is tutorial for unix/linux command.
