Hello.

When trying to get a value from a text box that is located within a <td> i use this code in IE:
var t = document.getElementById(‘tblCheques’);
var rs = t.getElementsByTagName(‘tr’);
var cells;
var row_tot;
for(var i=1;i<rs.length;i++)
{
cells = rs.getElementsByTagName(‘td’);
if(cells[6].firstChild.length == ”)
{
var anothervar = Number(0);
} else {
var anothervar = Number(cells[6].firstChild.value);
}
}
so obviously this will fetch the value entered in the 7th cell.

This code is NOT working in FF… any ideas why?

the length property should return a decimal number as its value, not a string. Try this:
<i>
</i>if(!cells[6].firstChild)

In fact... how do your cells look like? What condition you need to apply upon your them?
