menu with command array

I am building a web page, on this page I’m placing 10 menu buttons on the right that I’m configuring using CSS ‘DIV’ tag. Then I remembered it would be nice if i could gather all the code under Javascript that way when the mouse rolled over the buttons a function would be called to make it easy I tried to call each button meu(1), meu(2) and so on that way I would pass the number of the button to the function when I called it. It didn’t work what can I do to make it work? or is it impossible to do this way? In Vb it would be command array right?
