Hi,
A client has just asked me to do some web programming for him…seeing how I am just a Graphic Designer/basic html guy I really need some help because I am in a Tight Spot. I will try to spell this out the best I can. Thank you for any replies. I have searched the forum and come up empty so here goes:
I need to generate a “testimonial cycler” that pulls several quotes (like “I love your product -joe schmoe”) from a file on the server and rotates them through a table cell kind of like a slide show. The difference between this and a normal slide show would be 1) text instead of images and 2) the client would like to be able to click an “administrator” button on the home page and be able to edit all the quotes (and add quotes) in the “database” file.
I was thinking the source file could be an xml file. The advantage to this is that my client understands xml so he would just need one edit box to display the xml file and a “save” button on the administration page. But I am a novice with xml so I don’t know if that’s the best way to do it.
As for the web page implementation, all I need to be able to do is make it work in a table cell and change colors/fonts.
Ideally there would be some sort of fading transition effect between quotes, but hey, I don’t want to be picky ?
Thank you for any help. I hope I have been specific enough. I am hoping someone can point me to a script that does this or similar. I can “read” JavaScript but I would not be able to implement my own script without a lot of help.
