Looking for a script that’ll let a user generate a unique login, and then add that user & passwd to a server. Needs to check for existing users, and force some passwd complexity would be good too. Like an alpha numeric passwd

@Scripts4meauthorFeb 26.2009 — i could have it check an id file, then have a server script add new users added to the id file?

@scragarFeb 26.2009 — The file would be server side, the javascript client side. You cannot edit things server side without a server side language.

@Scripts4meauthorFeb 26.2009 — can php do such a task then?

@scragarFeb 26.2009 — Yes, PHP can achieve such a thing, although I would recommend using a database as well, you could possibly do it with a text file, although it does make it far harder to avoid duplicates.

@Scripts4meauthorFeb 26.2009 — what sorta of or kind of database would you recommend

@scragarFeb 26.2009 — Well, PHP normally works with MySQL, but you can use pretty much any kind of database you want.
