Searching inside of documents

I am building a site, and the client wants the search function of the site to not only search the pages, but also to be able to search inside of the Word docs and PDFs that are linked to from the site.

I checked with the developers of the CMS I’m using, and they do not have this ability, and probably won’t have it until the next version.

Does anybody here know of any alternatives that I could use? My online search is coming up dry so far.

If it helps, the site is being built on asp.net
