Help to push down column

I have a two column page and need to get the green background of the side column to meet the footer. I have looked at some solutions but to no avail. Can anyone look at the page [URL=”http://www.dorset-county-museum-music-society.org.uk/index.php?option=com_contact&view=category&catid=3&Itemid=3″]here[/URL]?

I would prefer to have the bottom picture stick to the bottom of the column leaving the logon below the menu so I can add further items in between.

@cantthinkofanicauthorJan 05.2009 — Hm, that is OK but if you go to the first page (I have updated the CSS files so you can see) because the page is shorter the banner item overlaps the non floated items in the column.

@cantthinkofanicauthorJan 05.2009 — Thanks, I've experimented with that and have found that setting that to 350px and #left to min-height:100% overcomes some other quirks. Problem is does that work in IE6 (I do not have that browser)?

Using Conditional Comments for IE6 would be better.

@cantthinkofanicauthorJan 05.2009 — That height you suggest gives problems in IE7 on the contacts page (the text is hidden). I seem to be able to do without it. The only problem now is due to it being absolute it no longer centers in the left column and if I shrink the browser width it does not cleanly shrink with the shrinking column.
