Need to embed font with web site

Problem: I had used full of verdana font in my web site, in case of the client machine not having verdana font it automatically using the web safe default font as Times New Roman.

Solution looking for: In this case my web page should be view/appear with Verdana. How can I incorporate the verdana (or what ever I wish) font with source code OR advice me any alternate solution for the design issue.

@CharlesDec 02.2008 — For the most part, you're really the only one who cares about your fonts—but you want to do as good a job as you can. [list]
  • [*]Verdana is a pretty common font and you can expect enough people to have it that the other methods aren't worth the trouble. If you are using any of Microsoft's [url=http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/]Core Fonts for the Web[/url] just specify [url=http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS2/fonts.html]generic backup[/url]. Verdana is a sans-serif font so you don't want a serif font like Times New Roman in its place.

    The reason I’m decided to embed font into the web application is:

    The end user of our product (web application—internal purpose) is composers (Macintosh users—working in font based jobs, they have been using limited fonts as per the job requirement); we can’t expect them to have the font which we used in our web application.

    So i'm in need to embed the Verdana font onto our web application itself.

    Can you kindly help me out?

    @felgallDec 03.2008 — In the case of Verdana it is a core font for windows, mac and linux and so the number of people not having it will be about as small as you can get with one font.
