Multiple Page Onload Redirect

I have literally just begun my JavaScript education. Please forgive me if this issue has already been covered here. I did a quickie search and didn’t see it. Not much time.

I speed read the W3C School’s JavaScript tutorial a couple of nights ago and saw it there, but, was unable to find it again later.

I need to redirect to multiple web pages in new windows onload, preferably with one site opening on top of the original page breaking the back button.

I also would like it if I could circumvent Firefox’s pop-up blocker or Single Window Mode to force multiple windows.

Thanks for your help.

@MrNobodyNov 21.2008 — Sorry, as soon as the words "circumvent" and "force" come up in reference to browser features, what you're thinking of doing should be classed as "monkeyshines" and a nuisance to visitors -- presuming you're talking about a web page. In addition, if such monkeyshines are not already impossible, they are nigh on to quickly becoming unlikely to be allowed anyway.

@mynewusernameauthorNov 22.2008 — You pretty much hit the nail on the head. However, my monkeyshines are intended for a specific acquaintance who visits a site of mine.

I want to do a web site version of the buttons.exe prank.

When I find out that this person is at my site, via my site stats, I want to change the auto refresh to force multiple pages to open.

It would be hilarious and harmless.

Immediately after punking him I would remove the code. So somebody help me please!

@rootNov 22.2008 — No.

Re-direction is done in HTML or at the server (in a setting) or in a server-side(a script).

Javascript is a fave of the crack crews and other sites that affiliate themselves to similar causes.

Theirs no reason why you would need this and to use your site.

If you need a prank then google it. You will find that 99.999% of them are childish and in most cases would be harmful to the computer.

I paid the price when I popped a monitor when a friend gave me a link to see something which he found funny and for me... I was not amused as I had to go and buy a new monitor.

Pranks may be fun but they are also dangerous to the recipients machine and hardware.
