Resizing Images with Anti-Alias

I was looking on Digg today, and I realized that my image resizing script resizes images much more choppy than Digg’s does. I know Digg is built using PHP as it has been mentioned many times before, and on the jobs pages there are many jobs for PHP developers, so Digg must be using PHP to resize the images, but I’m not sure how they get them to look so crisp. Here is the difference:

As you can tell there is quite a difference between Digg’s images and mine, and I’m not sure if there is some type of built-in anti-aliasing with PHP image resizing. If anybody has any idea, please let me know!

@AscendancyauthorNov 18.2008 — I threw the question up on both PHP forums because I figured somebody would figure it out sooner or later, but it looks like the problems been all fixed! If anybody else is curious you can check the phpbuilder thread that nogdog linked.
