I've never used it, so can't help you there. I'm surewww.zend.com will have lots of info, of course. And of course you can [url=http://www.zend.com/en/products/studio/downloads]download[/url] a trial version of Zend Studio, which includes the Zend Framework, in order to get some hands-on information and experience.
That's impossible to answer without knowing how you code now, plus it would probably take a book's worth of information to really answer it anyway (thus my previous replies). You might also want to start familiarizing yourself with the packages available at PEAR.PHP.net (which, by the way, is discussed in some detail in the aforementioned bool :p ).
