Your development Environment

For the past while I’ve been using a workflow I built up through school; DreamweaverCS3, TortoiseSVN, and Springloops. This works well for me, and I have it streamlined to a moderate degree of efficiency.

I believe the next step would be to explore what Eclipse has to offer. Particularly SVN integration with Subclipse. I’ve also seen Trac integrated through Eclipse, which seemed helpful. I’ve been working through the Eclipse wiki slowly, but I’d also like some feedback from developers using Eclipse – I am having a hard time in particular finding a starting point (ie:version, plugins…)

Thanks for your time!

@NogDogNov 08.2008 — I'm currently working with Apatana Studio, which is built upon an Eclipse platform. If you are using PHP, be sure to get the latest beta of the PHP plug-in. (At this writing it's at Release Candidate 1.0.x version.) It has a Tortoise SVN plug-in, and for that matter pretty much any Eclipse plug-in can be installed with it. So far I've been quite pleased with it for PHP/HTML/Javascript development (though by no means is it limited to PHP).
