JavaScript XML read

hello everyone,
i have a website that generates tables from an XML file. however i have just noticed that if I separate XML tags like
<tag1>xxx</tag1>
<tag2>xxx</tag2>
it doesn’t read it.
at the moment it is like this:
<tag1>xxx</tag1><tag2>xxx</tag2>
which works well. they both get validated and read. i don’t really understand what can be the problem.

thanks,
Tom

@jambortaauthorOct 23.2008 — sorry, i should be more precise. if the tags are in a different line, it reads tag1. using the following code it doesn't read tag2

var node1 = nodes[i].nextSibling;

title = node1.firstChild.nodeValue;

and it complains that firstChild is null.

@A1ien51Oct 23.2008 — You need to check the nodeType and make sure it is not whitespace.
