@kpikulauthorOct 22.2008 — This is actually a layer that I am floating above content. I have a link in my flash that hides the layer to reveal the content that is hidden by it.

@FangOct 22.2008 — IE6 will cover 100% of the parent element.

@kpikulauthorOct 22.2008 — The parent element is a table set at 950. Unfortunately, I do not have much control over the structure of the site as I am working within a web applications that renders my sites based on my CSS and elements that I put into the pages like the code above..

Is there a way around this?

@FangOct 22.2008 — What is the 100% you want to cover? The parent element will be covered.

@kpikulauthorOct 22.2008 — I would like this div span the whole screen no matter what the users resolution is although the table with the content is hardcode to 950px.

This div has a different background color as the rest of the pages. It serves as a flash intro to the site.

@FangOct 22.2008 — Move the div to be a child of the body.

@kpikulauthorOct 22.2008 — Sorry to make this so difficult, but I can not. I work within an application where I have to put my code in to areas of the site. When I the site is rendered it places all my code into a table which I have defined at 950.

I am wonder if I can use JS document.write to get around this.

@kpikulauthorOct 22.2008 — Is there a way with CSS where I can set the width of this div to something like 2000px but not have the browers scroll? I tryed overflow:hidden but it still produced scroll bars.

@FangOct 23.2008 — You will have to insert the div as a child of the body, as I previously mentioned.
