Textarea Accepting Text as is

I want to get my textarea to accept the test area as is. I’m writing a small forums script in colfudfusion, if that helps, and as of right now if you were to type this into the test area for the message:

  • 1.

    Dog

  • 2.

    Cat

  • 3.

    fish

    • It would display on the forum like this:

  • 1. Dog 2. Cat 3. fish

    • Can anyone help me out with getting it to display as is?

    @Khalid_AliOct 16.2003 — javascript has n for next line character it means nothing in html,you will have to write some code to see the new line and then enter <br/> tag
