Hi,

Is there are built in packages/extensions for Video handling in PHP.

Is possible to convert files between video file types using PHP.

I mean something like GD.

I know many of you have came across such needs, can such person give me a some basic guidelines.

@hastxOct 15.2008 — Somewhere on here is a thread about using Ming to aid in dynamic media player content... I think that is pretty close to what you might be looking for, it allows you to take various codecs and use the library to build a flash video player and output it to that.

but as far as just a library to convert file types I dont know of

@opifexOct 15.2008 — what are you trying to do? conversion to flv?

ffmpeg combined with a class package like phpvideotoolkit works well and is open source. we had a couple of problems with avi files, but i think that problem is fixed in the current package release.
