Zip and download

Hi all,

As yet another part of my directory script, I would like to be able to select directories (recursively) and files, and zip them up dynamically and allow me to download them.

For example, if I have this directory structure:
/file.x
/file.y
/file.z
/folder
/folder/subfolder
/folder/subfolder/file.x
/folder/subfolder/file.y
/folder/subfolder/file.z

I want to be able to have a PHP script zip up selected parts of that structure, recursively adding directories, maintaining directory structure, and then feeding it to me for download (not necessarily saving it – temp would be better).

I tried looking through the zip functions in the PHP manual, but I couldn’t make heads or tails of them.
