[RESOLVED] get parent id?

hello – bit stumped!

i can get the clicked elements ID by using this;
getMyId(this.id);

which works fine.

how can i get the parents id? I’ve tried everything i can think of and managed to get the elements structure(parentElement) but not the actual id?

any help would be great! D.
