@pyroOct 07.2003 — I'm assuming you are using HV Menu? If so, I believe the documentation tells you how to use this script with frames...

@XinOct 07.2003 — please excuse me for some advertisement, but if you want to have a cross-frame menu work in complex cases of frame setups, take a look at the following links for some examples:

  • - simple top-down frame setup

    http://yxscripts.com/menuG4/examples/frameset-t6.html

  • - simple left-right frame setup

    http://yxscripts.com/menuG4/examples/frameset-l2.html

  • - T-shape frame setup

    http://yxscripts.com/menuG4/examples/frameset-3f.html

  • - dynamic frame setup (switch between top-down / T-shape)

    http://yxscripts.com/menuG4/examples/frameset-x.html

  • - FAQ page about cross-frame menu install:

    http://yxscripts.com/menuG4/examples/example2.html

  • the advantages are:

    - for "fixed" target frame (same frame for sub-menus), you only need to setup the frameset page and the navigation frame page, the target frame pages remain plain html files, save you lots of efforts when you need to make some changes to the menu

    - work with complex frame setups. if you want to go with frames and menus, let the menu follow your frame design ?

    thanks,

    xin

@XinOct 07.2003 — well, for those samples i didn't set up the actual links in the menu content, so that you will have to click the links in the frame page instead to switch pages.

you can download the zip file:

    http://www.yxscripts.com/menuG4/menuG4.zip

unzip and run locally all the examples.

the definition of menu content and menu style might look differently comparing to other menu scripts, but the faq page should address most of the questions.

    thanks,

    xin
