@mitchellJul 19.2008 — they may be a way to temperery stop people knowing but you need to know this:

if someone wants to know the address of your frame a rubbish script isnt going to stop them they can just look at view page source and they know.

but if you make the frames have no boarders 9 times out of 10 people wont even know you are using frames.

why do you want to stop people looking at the url of a frame, what could they do if they knew

@kudiyanauthorJul 19.2008 — even though things are in localserver level---

its just that i want visitors to use/visit the new site, which is using just a particular section from the old site .

just as an example:- a video player is hosted is mysite.com and i am showing a video from this to my new site mysite2.com(my New site) which has more features

@kudiyanauthorJul 19.2008 — im also not looking for any useless javascript codes for disabling right click or hide source code etc. ? ..

Even though things are in localserver level--

its just that i want the visitors to visit/use the new site instead of the old one.. new site access few pages from the old server. i dont want ppl to visit the old one anymore.

for example:- If i have videos hosted in a server as mysite.com and i am accessing particular video player in mysite2.com in another server using frames or anything. i dnt want ppl to find the frame scr as mysite.com.

@mitchellJul 19.2008 — the best advise i can give you is to copy all the content from the old server to the new server ?

@felgallJul 19.2008 — You can use server side redirects to redirect people from the old server to the new. There is no need to use any frames.

@rootJul 19.2008 — If you want the visitors to use the new site from the old URL, go to your admin CP for the old address and amend the name-server details to point to the new site.

That way you won;t scare people when they see that they are being redirected, this is something I hate personally and gets a quick click on the close window. Redirection is fine if your an established company that is well known but for the average joe who employs redirection on a URL will often invoke a similar response that I do when this happens, this is a hallmark of drive by downloads and malware attacks.

Changing the name server details will mean that your visitors can use bot old and new URL, check the host name for the requested URL and if it is the old site you can alert people to update their bookmarks. I am assuming that your going to let the old domain name expire?

I am assuming that your host provides this level of access. If you do not know what your doing, it is best to get some advice from the existing host support desk.
