can you not inherit? specif: opacity attribute.

is there a way to tell a div not to inherit from a parent div?
specifically one attribute.

as many of u know if you have a div
with opacity set to it; then the text over it will
inheirt that attribute and become transparent also
unless you make a seperate div and layer them over eachother – which is not
what i want to do.

ne ideas on this?

thanks
Marcus

@marcusamiauthorJun 30.2008 — yea that involves creating a div thats outside the inherited one

and then u negatively bring it up from top: -200px or wat not.

I appreciate it but thats not really the method i wanted to use.

wouldnt it be nice if there was something where u could stop the inheritance

of one attribute

oh well

@Declan1991Jun 30.2008 — Opacity is one of the only attributes that you cannot stop inheritance. Basically everything else you can override.
