online multiplayer calendar

hi, im trying to make an online events calendar similar to [URL=”http://30boxes.com/welcome.php”]http://30boxes.com/welcome.php[/URL] except I want to make mine multiplayer where anyone can add events and everybody can see them. Use this email and password. I’m pretty sure the whole website is written in javascript.

Anyway, my question is: how do I go about learning javascript in order to make something like that? I’ve read through quite a lot of tutorials so I think I have the basics covered. I know HTML and a bit of CSS.
My problem is that I dont know how to go about making a website like that. I’m not asking for you guys to write me up the code. Just some a point in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks.

@shakeukJun 26.2008 — unless your gonna be using a server side script and a database this isnt going to be possible, as you will need somewhere to store you events, then once stored they need to be retreeved so who ever needs to see them can see them. javascript doesnt have access to the server or databases.

on the link you gave the first page it loads is "welcome.php" and php is serverside script which says to me you wont be able to do what you want with just javascript.

Once you log into the website thought you'll see the calendar i was talking about. Using Firebug i can see that it's mainly javascript. So if it IS mainly in javascript, does that mean all i need to do is look at that code and learn from it? or are there bits of code i won't be able to see?
