getting checkbox form input

Hi, so I recently found a javascript that does a check all, but the check all only works if all of the checkboxes are the same name. So I’m thinking that this means that there is some way of getting all the values from the checkboxes checked, but when I try I still only get the last one. Anybody know what’s happening?
