If I wanted to go to the W3C validator and make sure the markup on my site index was correct, would it matter if there were PHP scripts running on the index?
@NogDogJun 23.2008 — #It is true for any server-side processing, such as PHP, Perl/CGI, JSP, ASP, etc. CSS is not a scripting language, and will be accessible to any client that accesses your page, including the validators -- particularly including the CSS validator. ?
@Joseph_WitchardauthorJun 23.2008 — #So if you had CSS embedded in your page via the <style></style> tags instead of linking to an external style sheet, it wouldn't mess the HTML validator up?
@NogDogJun 23.2008 — #The <style> tag is part of the HTML specification (see ). As long as it is correctly implemented, then no, it will not generate any HTML errors, just like every other HTML tag defined in the spec.
