[RESOLVED] Rand Pass Generator store on DB

Ok, so, here’s the scoop:

My client has an idea to send out random generated password to users in order for them to login and update their profiles.

Right now I have a generator that works, however I am at the point where I want to store them on our DB (database). I was wondering how I would accomplish this. I’ve tried:
$query = “INSERT INTO users (password) VALUES(‘”$temp_pass”‘)”;
But for some reason this isn’t working. It’s worked in other situations, but all I get are errors.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!

@marcusamiMay 07.2008 — what kind of database are u using?

thats not doing anything your just assigning a variable a command and not executing it

for mysql you would do

mysql_query("INSERT INTO users (password) VALUES('$temp_pass')") or die(mysql_error());
regards

Marcus
