Focus the first text field

Because this page wasn’t set up correctly, I’m not able to use an onload to focus a specific text field for every page. Most pages have only one, but some have multiples. I was wondering if someone could give me an idea how I could write a javascript function that I could call with <body onload=””> that would just throw focus to the first text field on the page? All of the form names are different too. 😡 Thanks for the help!

function focusFirstTextField() {
if (!document.getElementsByTagName)
return;
var inputs = document.getElementsByTagName("input");
if (inputs.length &gt; 0)
inputs[0].focus();
}
Just call that in the body's onload.
