Is godaddy really that bad and, if so, who’s better?

Hi,

I know this really is related directly to this forum, but I didn’t find any that I thought this question should really go under. So I figured why not post it in the one with the most threads ?.

I’ve seen a lot of internet talk about how godaddy is awful because they will deregister domain names, shut down user access to their hosted sites and the like without any sort of notice. Does anyone know how much truth there is to this?

Also, is there another hosting option that is as economical and as good as godaddy’s is on paper?
