Displaying initial value of content on popup.

Ok, here is my situation:

I have a login form that is displayed in the form of a popup, once a link is clicked. I have the fields initial value set to a universal username and password. When the form is displayed after clicking the link, the initial values are not there. I can catch a glimpse of the form pre-loading when the page comes up, and the fields ARE in fact filled out, but once the form displays through the link, which uses javascript to display a popup looking layer, the values are gone.

Any guidance would be much appreciated!
